• Inmates display their certificates after successfully finishing their respective courses in the prison. Vocational training offered by PSO to these inmates is the greatest asset they can use when their terms have been served.

  • A female bebeficiary from the Bicycle Rehabilitation project poses with her bicycle. The bicycles have changed the lives of many, male and female alike easing movement of the beneficiaries.
  • Inmates are provided with Computer skills that help them cope up with the developing world when they have served their sentences. This is helping them to cope with changing trends after they stay isolated from society.

  • A female inmate here seeks counsel from a tutor.

    The objective is to help them gain skills and qualifications that help them find employment when they are released. Research shows that prison education programs can improve behaviour, reduce recidivism and increase employment prospects upon release.

The Bicycle Rehabilitation Project:

In July 2007, Prisoners Support Organization (PSO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bikes for the World (BFW) to receive bicycles and parts from BFW, repair or recondition the bicycles and to distribute them to disadvantaged families and groups in Uganda. Bikes for the World (BFW) are a sponsored project of the Washington Bay Area Association that distributes bicycles to people in developing countries through partnerships with non-governmental organizations.
